Fat man taken to hospital by truck

A 40-stone man (that's 560 pounds) had to be taken to a hospital in a truck after paramedics were unable to fit him into their ambulance. The 39-year-old, from Dusseldorf, rang emergency services after suffering severe stomach pains. The paramedic crew had to wait for fire fighters to help lift the obese patient out of his house. A spokesman for the fire brigade said it took several of their strongest firemen to lift the patient onto a stretcher and carry him to a specially arranged truck that took him to the hospital. The Dusseldorf emergency service said they have been considering buying a special wagon for very large people but that the £170,000 cost was still an obstacle.
I SAW A VERY LARGE WOMAN, certainly more than 300 lbs, in the NYC subway last week. She sat across from me. She was so big, she distorted the space around her. The whole perspective was out of whack. I thought I was gazing at some optical illusion, or a warp in the continuum of space and time. It was pretty weird. It was actually inconceivable. My eyes did not believe. I imagine if I ever saw God, he would be very fat, and therefore unbelievable.
