THE SEX REBEL OF JESUSLAND, chapter 139

139. THE TRAINING.

Before the mission, Ezra insisted on three weeks rigorous training, barracks-style. Adam took a short sabbatical and joined the others. Proctor was off somewhere, not at the university.

Adam left his mind and entered his body. It was all running and rope-jumping, weights, aerobics, stretching, endurance. It was also weapons training: fighting, shooting, knives, bayonets, handgrenades, rocket launchers, landmines, and so on. Halfway through Adam realized they were being trained to be terrorists. The most important part, Ezra insisted, was that they were eating and sleeping together, and learning to work together. He had a prison built for them in which to rehearse the rescue, with guards and wardens to neutralize.

They worked timed by a stopwatch. So much time to pump in the gas that would immobilize everyone in the prison. So much time to break in. So much time to get to death row. So much time to bring out Eve. So much time to take off in their aircraft.

They would do it perfectly, and then Ezra, wielding his stopwatch, would say: “Great stuff. Yet another triumph for Christian technology. But I think we can knock ten seconds off breaking down those two doors and sprinting down the passage. Let’s do it again.”
