Bush agrees there may be parallel between Iraq and Vietnam
The sometimes insufferable Tom Friedman wrote in a NY Times column that the violence in Iraq is now at the same point as the Tet offensive in Vietnam -- where it starts to turn public opinion mightily against the war. When asked about this, Bush said, "He could be right."
Hmm. Could it be that reality is finally drilling itself past the bubble around Bush's brain?
Reminds me of another Bush 'truth" moment. According to the always insufferable David Brooks, Bush was having a White House chat with a group of conservative journalists, and "asked us to think about what the world could be like 50 years from now, with Islamic radicals either controlling the world's oil supply or not." So oil had nothing to do with our invasion of Iraq?
Hmm.
