Adam's blogbox: now for blood, now for impeachment
Now that the Dems have won the House, and look set to take the Senate too, the time has come for the nation’s most necessary business: the impeachment of President Bush.
This is a President who broke the law in his warrantless wiretapping. This is a President who lied us into a “pre-emptive” war against a country that presented no threat to us. This is a President who declared his intention not to follow laws passed by Congress in his signing statements. This is a President who dumped a cornerstone of democracy, habeas corpus. This is a President who tore up the Geneva Conventions and sanctioned torture. This is a President who did not do his job on Katrina. This is a President who has spent us into crippling debt. This is a President who lost us the respect of the world and turned us into a helpless giant with the diplomatic influence of a midget. This is a President who demolished our moral standing among nations. This is a President with the blood of almost 3,000 innocent US soldiers on his hands.
This is an immoral, lying, bullying, law-breaking, power-grabbing President. George Bush must be impeached, to send a signal to future presidents that they can never again start wars for no good reason, or lie to the American people throughout their presidency, or traduce our democratic and moral principles.
This is the time for Democrats to avenge themselves on the Republicans, who tried to impeach a Democratic President because he thought there was a difference between screwing and getting a blowjob.
Clinton did not deserve to have impeachment proceedings started against him. Nobody died when Clinton lied. George Bush deserves to be court-martialed. He has brought shame and humiliation on our nation.
The cancer of George Bush must be cut out of our nation. Now.

I agree.
Let's take a moment, and help convince Nancy Pelosi to Impeach..
The day the nation demands impeachment is upon us. Sacks and sacks of mail are about to arrive in Nancy Pelosi's office initiating impeachment via the House of Representative's own rules. This legal document is as binding as if a State or if the House itself passed the impeachment resolution (H.R. 635).
There's a little known and rarely used clause of the "Jefferson Manual" in the rules for the House of Representatives which sets forth the various ways in which a president can be impeached. Only the House Judiciary Committee puts together the Articles of Impeachment, but before that happens, someone has to initiate the process.
That's where we come in. In addition to a House Resolution (635), or the State-by-State method, one of the ways to get impeachment going is for individual citizens like you and me to submit a memorial. ImpeachforPeace.org has created a new memorial based on one which was successful in impeaching a federal official in the past. You can find it on their website as a PDF.
You can initiate the impeachment process and simultaneously help to convince Pelosi to follow through with the process. Do-It-Yourself by downloading the memorial, filling in the relevant information in the blanks (your name, state, etc.), and sending it in. Be a part of history.
