Weird World: a new T-shirt that translates air guitar moves into real music

Scientists in Australia announced yesterday that they had developed a T-shirt with built-in motion detectors that wirelessly transmit the wearer’s arm motions to a computer that interprets them as guitar riffs, The Associated Press reported. “It’s an easy-to-use, virtual instrument that allows real-time music-making even by players without significant musical or computing skills.” One arm of the so-called wearable instrument shirt is interpreted as picking chords, while the other strums, and the garment is adaptable to both right- and left-handed aspiring rockers.
