Do you give a shit about the environment?

Bush has been eviscerating environmental protection but who gives a shit? I can't say I ever did until I taught high school briefly in the Bronx, and noticed all the asthmatic kids with their inhalers, and was told by the school nurse that this was the biggest health problem. And in 1993, New York water began to taste like chemicals. Anyway, there's a big controversy roiling the environmental movement, fueled by the essay "The Death of Environmentalism", in which the authors dump on what they call the "I have a nightmare" speech.
