Picasso the poet

Yo, da muthafucka wrote, too. 'Now Picasso's poems are available in English for the first time in a comprehensive volume of Picasso's writings, "The Burial of the Count of Orgaz & Other Poems." Co-editors Jerome Rothenberg and Pierre Joris collected the writings from the original Spanish and French. Picasso's literary output has been little more than a footnote, but "it's the work of an accomplished poet," says Rothenberg. "It was not trivial work. It's part of the history of experimental poetry in the 20th century."' Review here. In related news, Yale Professor Craphogger has branched out into composing. Next week he will perform his 'Fugue for the Entire World's Victims from when Abuse first started a Long, Long Time Ago' in the tunnel of the NYC subway stop at 14th St between the F and no. 1 platforms.
