China's revenge for Japan's atrocities
'A grass-roots Chinese campaign to keep Japan out of the UN's Security Council has gathered some 22m signatures, increasing the chances that China will block Japan's bid to join the elite group, organizers and analysts said Thursday. Relations between the countries have sharply deteriorated in recent weeks, strained by competition for energy resources, disputes over the way history textbooks assess Japan's role in World War II, Japan's pledge to aid the United States in defending Taiwan and the recent incursion of a Chinese submarine into Japanese waters. Japan and Germany are by far the largest contributors that do not have permanent seats on the Security Council. Japan has said it will cut its contributions if it does not get a seat. North and South Korea, which were colonized by Japan, have already said that they oppose Japan's bid. They argue that Tokyo has not done as much as Germany to atone for its imperialist abuses and that it cannot become a leading member of the international community unless it addresses the legacy of mistrust among its neighbors.' Full story here. Strange how some countries just cannot deal with their past. In France, everyone thinks their forebears were in the French Resistance, when it consisted of a miniscule number of Communists, while the vast majority of Frogs bent over to let the German panzers drive right up their buttholes. In Japan, they don't mention the Rape of Nanking, when Japanese troops went on a death orgy in this Chinese city, raping and killing and slicing the breasts of women by the thousands. They also, like the Nazis, did horrific medical experiments on the Chinese. And in the US, we finally came clean in the 1960s about how we genocided our native Indians, but we still mournfully add up the 50,000 we lost in Vietnam and conveniently forget the million and a half Vietnamese we killed, as well as the countless South Americans who were murdered by our proxy regimes there, whose officers we trained in our infamous torture school.
