Don't name road after me, says Willie Nelson

Willie Nelson says he didn't want his name on a road anyway. The question arose after a state senator, Gonzalo Barrientos, proposed naming a portion of Texas Highway 130, part of the Central Texas Turnpike Project, to honor Mr. Nelson, the Texas country singer, for good music and good works. But after two other senators objected, Mr. Barrientos withdrew the bill. In a letter to the senator, Joel Katz, a lawyer for Mr. Nelson, said he was honored by the proposal but added, "Willie simply does not feel that the naming of a toll road in his honor comports with his world view on either a personal or an artistic level."
In related news, Yale Professor Craphogger has proposed naming part of a warthog after President Bush, namely the animal's anus. The White House has not yet responded.
