Bookplanet: Slate reviewer Meghan O'Rourke

I'm beginning to really like litcrit Meghan O'Rourke over at Slate. Read her review of Michael Cunningham's new novel, in which he uses Walt Whitman like he used Virginia Woolf in The Hours. Her review is a masterpiece of what book criticism should be. It doesn't play down to the audience because it's in a mass-medium like Slate. And it makes its points closely argued and finely worded. Great stuff.
