Are the majority of Americans liberal or conservative?

In a May 2005 survey published by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press, 65% of respondents said they favor providing health insurance to all Americans, even if it means raising taxes. 86% said they favor raising the minimum wage. 77% said they believe the country "should do whatever it takes to protect the environment." A September Gallup Poll finds that 59% consider the Iraq War a mistake, and 63% agree that US forces should be partially or completely withdrawn. So what does that make the majority of Americans -- right or left? Liberal or conservative? Or liberal without knowing they are?

Liberal without knowing it, b/c they think "liberal" means "radical."

Which is why liberals should always call the Neocons and Theocrats and Rightwing Evangelicals and pro-lifers "radical" or 'extreme radicals." Who knows, eventually we might be able to call the conservatives "extreme" and then "radical" and make everyone believe it.
