THE SEX REBEL OF JESUSLAND, chapter 131
131. THE VERDICT OF THE BELOVEDS.
Adam did not want to watch, but he did. That weekend Ezra’s network ran two eight-hour programs on the aftermath of the trial. In the end, the big discussion was not about what had happened, but about what was going to happen.
To wit, the manner of Eve’s death. Injection? Electric chair? Hangman’s rope? Guillotine? Or burn her at the stake?
Burning at the stake grew in popularity until, at the end of the weekend, it was the preferred method of a majority of Beloveds. Now it was up to the Blesseds. Would they do what the Beloveds wanted? Or would they want to keep burning at the stake solely for Crimes Against God and His Nation? Was killing a helpless child not a Crime Against God and His Nation? It was interesting that, although most Beloveds favored execution by burning, only a minority of them thought murdering a child should be elevated to the status of Crime Against God and His Nation. They did not want the crime elevated, but they wanted the punishment to reach down to this female who had done something so unforgivable that they did not want her to have an easy death. They wanted her to die in pain. She stood in for the millions of unborn children who had been murdered, one every twenty seconds, since before this trial. They wanted her death to balance all those deaths.
They wanted her to die in pain, and they wanted tickets sold to Beloveds, so they could see her pain, and feel cleansed of this crime that had been committed so many times before. They could not kill all the females who had done this before, but they could kill this one, and they could put all their rage on this one head that they wanted to see split open in the heat of a consuming fire.
