134. ADAM CONFRONTS EZRA.

“You set her up!”

“I can’t believe it,” said Ezra. “Quite frankly, it wasn’t what we had rehearsed.”

“You could’ve picked another case.”

“I made a deal. They got me on the fine print.”

“You could’ve refused Eve’s case and used your influence to have it thrown out. You wanted her case because she’s telegenic. You set her up. You did it to start your network. You’re still upset about your divorce. You punished her, you got her back, you crushed your enemy.”

“I had no idea it would work out this way. I’ve been betrayed by my cast.”

“Bullshit. You set her up.”

Adam swung and got Ezra square on the nose. Ezra brought his hands up to his face, and Adam hit out again. Ezra swerved to the left and hit Adam low, under the ribs. Adam coughed, winded, but grabbed at Ezra’s eye patch. The eye patch tore off and there was a hole in Ezra’s head. Adam tried to pry a finger in. Ezra hit Adam again, low, and Adam bent over. Ezra hit him again, an uppercut, and Adam felt something snap in his face. He grabbed Ezra’s arm and bit it, trying to tear a vein out of Ezra’s wrist. Adam felt a blow on his head and fell down. He came to seconds later, and felt Ezra kicking him in the ribs.

“You stupid fuck!” Ezra shouted.
