Dan Brown invades literature

In the British Book Awards shortlist, there's a Reader's Digest Author of the Year. Among Alan Hollinhgurst, Sheila Hancock and Alexander McCall Smith, pops up Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown. The international Impac Award, nominated by librarians, and at 100,000 euro a rich prize, has their shortlist out: The Half Brother by Lars Saabye Christensen, Elle by Douglas Glover, Phantom Pain by Arnon Grunberg, The Great Fire by Shirley Hazzard, Willenbrock by Christoph Hein, Deafening by Frances Itani, The Known World by Edward P. Jones, The Fortress of Solitude by Jonathan Lethem, and two written by South Africans, The Good Doctor by Damon Galgut and Gardening at Night by Diane Awerbuck.News here.
