151. THE CLUE.

Then he noticed it. There was a change. There was an amulet around Hagar’s left wrist. It was his goddess amulet that he had given Scarlet. He began to shiver and shake. Now he had his own fact to make into an event. But first he had to see if his fact checked out.

He left his bungalow and crossed the courtyard to the office building. He opened all the doors with Scarlet’s master key till he came to the porn studio set. There was a new wall built. Behind it he could hear voices. Then he heard footsteps behind him, fast, and turned around, but a big cloth was clamped over his face. He smelled the gas before he passed out.


152. ADAM WAKES UP.

Adam struggled to open his eyes before they wanted to. Slowly his eyes filled in the environment. He lay on a floor in a cell. His head ached. He heard footsteps. The creak of a door. He saw legs. He looked up. There was a light in his eyes. He was blinded. He felt as though he were back in the initiation ceremony and being made a Blessed all over again.

When he woke up fully, he saw four masked men. A video camera pointed at them, with two hard lights shining on them. Two of the men dragged him in front of the camera. They pulled him up. One of the men hit him in the face. Another man spoke to the camera. He spoke English, unlike the Arabic gibberish the Brotherhood had spoken before.

“Here is your next infidel. A famous infidel academic with a TV program, where he introduced Satan himself, the so-called prophet Jeremiah Luther, a false prophet to the TV viewers of the world. He claims he is a friend of this false prophet, Jeremiah Luther. Well, we have a way of dealing with false prophets and all their friends and followers.”

One of the men pulled out a long knife. He ran his finger across the edge.

“The infidels will keep losing their heads until our demands are met. We will cut off a head a week until our demands are met. There is no shortage of infidels. We will cut our way through their heads until our Muslim women and our men in Nevada are treated with respect. Until our women get their veils and headscarves, and our men get their rubber gloves. As long as you infidel Christians disrespect us Muslim people, we will disrespect your heads.”

The man with the knife grabbed Adam by his hair and put his knife under Adam’s chin. He thought: it ends like this?
