The tabloidification of Congress

My astute girlfriend points out that Congress has been taboidified: witness them inserting their gasbag tubes into the feeding tube case, and flexing their puny biceps over the use of steroids in baseball. If tabloidification can happen to something as sacred as religion, why not to government (our latest news manufacturer)?
